Got the Mazdaspeed 6 up and running!

This car was down for way longer than it needed to be. I took a perfectly good running engine out prematurely just because I felt it would give me the motivation to just go ahead and knock it all out. Well… life happens and when you don’t have time you just don’t have time! Almost 8 months later I finally had a solid chunk of free time to knock this shit out and I am so happy I did. Only got it tuned on straight 93 octane piss water with no meth or any secondary fueling yet, but once I get the fuel system done it’ll be time to hit that moon boost! Right now the factory DI injection is maxed the fuck out hitting around 112+ % so I have had to back off the limiter and keep boost down quite a bit. Still faster than my old BNR S3 turbo at 26psi and letting people eat that external wastegate next to you is worth it all itself 🙂

Block:

SP63 9.5:1 pistons, Manley rods, clevite main and rods bearings, arp main studs and forged crankshaft. Speed performance did a fantastic job on this engine I have no complaints. I’ll be tearing down the engine I pulled out, which had zero issues, and using it as a great candidate for a back up build.

Head:

Professionally cleaned, valves blasted, not a piece of carbon in there. Supertech titanium springs and retainers (55lb), pressure tested and trued.

Turbo setup:

CP-E turbo manifold (vband), PTE 5862 (vband), tial 44mm MVR wastegate, kozmic dump tube, 3″ catless downpipe, FMIC from Go-Autoworks.

Misc:

ACT 6 puck race clutch w/ pro-lite flywheel, JMF intake manifold, injectors cleaned and flow tested, Corksport injector seals, adapted performance im/tb gaskets, brisk race plugs gapped at .026 (for now), Damond PMM, AWR TMM/ RMM, Damond power steering cooler, Speed Performance transfer case bearing caps, Torco RTF in the trans and Amsoil Severe Gear in the PTO / Rear Diff, IM and valve cover hydrodipped marble green by Dipshits here in Charlotte, NC.
